Brian Meaney - Secondary
Brian is responsible for the standards of teaching and learning at Northfleet Technology College ensuring that students’ learning is of the highest standards and that NTC creates the most effective learning environment possible for its students. Brian leads and manages a team of outstanding practitioners to support and drive teaching and learning through one to one support, subject specific support and development of new practices and ideas.
Brian also Leads and manages the school CPD programme, ensuring that the programme is linked to SIP and the needs of staff at NTC. He has coached and support senior leaders and teaching staff alike and working with a team to create a coaching ethos at NTC to stimulate self-reflection and self-ownership in one’s own professional develop to improve students’ progress.
Brian is an experience teacher Physical Education during which time he has lead the subject working with a large team that drove the department to achieve outstanding results. This experience include developing SOW, assessment with the subject across three key stages, managing and leading staff hence building capacity for future leaders and creating programmes to develop students engagement inside and outside the curriculum.
Marc Dockrell - Primary
Marc has been a primary school teacher for 9 years and has experience in both key stage 1 and 2. During this time he has had the responsibility of leading PE & school sport, Science and Numeracy.
In his role of upper key stage 2 leader Marc developed a curriculum that is flexible and gives the children opportunities for 'Engagement and Enjoyment everyday'.
He has been instrumental in supporting relevant staff in implementing the new curriculum.
In his current role of Assistant headteacher Marc manages the staffing rota for our large team of teaching and support staff.
Marc is instrumental in supporting the headteacher in data and assessment management. He uses his analysis skills to effectively identify areas of need and implements appropriate interventions which are monitored on a regular basis. Following completion of the 'Effective Classroom observation' training Marc has been effective in raising standards in his school but also in other schools in the area.
Marc has developed systems to hold Middle Leaders to account and plays an active role in supporting colleagues new to leadership.
As leader of CPD within the school, Marc has ensured there are close links between performance management and any CPD needs. The work he has done helped the school gain the CPD mark in 2013.
Marc's main area of expertise is in ITT and NQT induction and is the senior mentor in the school. As part of the schools position as an advanced partnership school he has responsibility for supporting and developing the teachers of the future.
