Music

Emma Campbell - Secondary

Emma has been teaching at Northfleet Technology College for the past 7 years and has been in middle management for over 5 years.  Her area of expertise has been developed through a deep interest in Music within the curriculum, and in particular, planning for student engagement, enjoyment and achievement.

For the past 5 years, Emma has taken the lead in teaching KS3 music as well as Level 2 BTEC at KS4,  and Level 3 BTEC at KS5.  More recently, she has also become an adviser within her own school for the 'Arts Award' as well as running/teaching the V. Cert in Music.

Through active engagement at KS3, the uptake of Music in KS4 & 5 within her own school has increased.  Emma has a keen interest in the ‘Musical Futures’ approach to music within the classroom and has been a champion teacher for the past 5 years, running a series of workshops and staff training days open to teachers across the South-East, in addition to being involved in the development of the approach nationally.

Emma also has a long-standing relationship with Canterbury Christchurch University, mentoring PGCE students each year within their teaching placements
